Association Info
Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland's leading dementia charity and works to improve the lives of everyone affected by dementia.
Dementia is an illness which affects the brain, causing a progressive loss of mental powers. It is the fourth most common cause of death in Scotland. Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia are the most common forms of the illness. People with dementia gradually lose their memory and understanding. They become confused and often frustrated as they cannot do things that they used to.
We support people with dementia and their carers through home and day care services and carer support groups, actively campaign for policies that will improve the lives of people with dementia, and provide emotional support and information through our freefone 24 hour helpline 0808 808 3000. You can help Alzheimer Scotland improve the lives of people with dementia and their carers. Join us today! The more members we have the more powerful our voice.
