Tui na is the most recent branch of Chinese medicine to reach the UK and its popularity is growing at an ever-expanding rate. On this course you will learn not only learn tui na massage techniques but will also receive the same in-depth knowledge of Chinese medicine as students on our Acupuncture degree. You will develop your skills in the various techniques, including compound techniques, passive movements and methods of tonification and sedation. You will also cover the TCM actions and apply your learning in a supervised clinical setting. In addition, this course also includes the study of yang style Shaolin Neigong, yin style Healing Sounds Qi Gong and Wisdom Qi Gong.
Entry: appropriate life experience; no previous experience or science qualifications required
Length of study: 2 years full time
Mode of study: weekend or weekday core units + 37 Fridays or Saturdays in year two
Point of entry: September or March
Attendance: 6 days a month full-time + 25 evening Qi Gong classes

At LCTA we are working to help develop the newly constituted professional body, the British Tui Na Association (BTNA), of which our graduates have automatic membership. Using the BAcC as a template, the BTNA has been established to set up Codes of Safe Practice in the profession and to maintain high standards of education for practitioners.
