The Art of Detoxing Safely

Whether during winter or summer many go through the days of ‘fasting' and drinking liquids only, but for some at the end of the day this becomes a ‘headache' through lack of fluid intake or low sugar levels.  There are many ways to ‘detox', but everyone has their own special needs including medication, this is why it is safer to refer to your health practitioner for advice before embarking on the journey of ‘detox'.  Just because everyone else is talking about it as the latest trend, does not mean it may be the one for you.

When seeking out therapy from a Reflexologist or Massage Therapist be assured that every session encourages detoxification of the body and this is why it is extremely important to drink water before and immediately after a session whether by working on your own feet/hands or whether with a practitioner.  Often a slight headache will develop after a session, but that is normally an indication to drink more fluids and if of course the headache persists, seek the advice of your health practitioner.

Recently in a work environment, we have seen people collapse from lack of fluids and lack of a morning meal and in some cases, topped with an alcoholic ‘hang over', commonly known as lack of fluids and low sugar.

A teaspoon of Honey is a great ‘healer' and known to be a quick fix but obviously those with sugar related problems are to seek the advice of their medical practitioner first.

Inner healing is by choice and for those who choose this journey, I suggest you ask many questions and choose what feels right for you.
