Kegel weights also known as Vaginal Weights or Kegel Balls, are small weights meant to be used in the vagina. They are just like any other strength training method. The way you think about it, dumbbells are not necessary for biceps curls. However, they will provide resistance and help you achieve the same results. Kegel weights are a great way to get more from your Kegel workouts.
How do Kegel weights function?
While it might sound bizarre to place a weight in your genital area, please bear with us. It can be easier to do Kegel exercises because the weights give your muscles something they can contract around and will provide resistance that will help your pelvic floor muscles strengthen faster.
The weights can help you feel the weight being squeezed, lifted, and ensure you are doing your Kegel exercises correctly. You can often get multiple weights in your Kegel weight system set, such as our Pixy Kegel Weights. This allows you to gain weight as you become stronger.
How to insert Kegel weights
Kegel weights can seem daunting at first, but once you get used to them, it's not difficult to move on. Kegel weights are similar to inserting an ointment.
It will be easier to insert the weight if your muscles tighten. You might be tempted to put one foot on the chair or side of the tub. Or, you could even try lying down.
Insert the weight
Place the weight slowly. To ease the process, you may use a small amount of lubricant. Your pelvic floor muscles should be tightened to support the weight. You might notice that the weight is naturally drawn into the vagina. Some weights are equipped with a handle to aid in removal. This should be left outside your vagina.
Contract you muscles
You can contract your muscles the same way you do Kegel exercises. Begin by only holding the contraction for 2 seconds. As you become familiar with the weights you will be able to move on to longer contractions.
How to lose Kegel weights
Once you're done, relax and lie down. You can use more lubricant on the vaginal opening to reduce discomfort. You can relax your muscles by slowly pulling on the handle. After you've removed the weight, dry it off thoroughly and let it air dry.
Kegel weight tips
These are the top tips for getting the most out of your Kegel weights
1. Find your pelvic floor muscles
Kegel weights can be dangerous. Make sure you insert them correctly before you use them. The weight can't be placed correctly or it will not give you a great workout. Place a finger inside your navel, and then contract your pelvic muscles. You will feel the muscles contract around your finger. Place the weight just above this muscle. Do not worry about your weight loss; there is a limit to how far it can travel before reaching your cervix.
2. Find a good job
Try Kegel weights lying down, if possible if this is your first time. Gravity can make lifting weights more difficult. As you get more comfortable with the weights, you'll find it easier to use them while standing, sitting, and even walking. You should be comfortable in whatever position you choose so you can focus on your exercises.
3. Start small
For the first time, you should start by using the lightest weight. You can hold the contraction for two seconds. As you get stronger, your ability to hold the contractions will increase and you can eventually move on to heavier weights.
4. Make it a habit
It's a good idea to add a new habit to an existing one. This is known as habit stacking. You likely spend your mornings washing your face and brushing your teeth. Your Kegel weight exercises can be added to your morning routine several days per week. Soon, it will become second nature.
5. Be patient
Kegel weights are not a quick way to get results. Keep track of your workouts in a notebook, or on your smartphone to keep track of them. You should note the weight and duration of the contractions as well as how many reps were completed. Once you have a while, it will be easy to look back and see how much effort was worth it.
6. You should keep your weight in check
Any item that you are using in your vagina -- be it Kegel weights, or a menstrual Cup -- must be sterilized and cleaned to stop bacteria from getting into your vagina. After each use, rinse your weights thoroughly with a pH-balanced cleanser. This is where our Pixie Cup Clean comes in handy! It's 100% made of plant-based, all-natural ingredients. It's safe for your weight, as well as any other things that might come into contact with your genital region.
