Candida
The name of a group of yeast-like fungi which can be found in all of us to some degree, but often does not cause us trouble; the most significant member of the genus is Candida albicans, which can cause numerous infections including candidiasis or thrush found in both humans and animals.
Candida can be present as a vaginal infection, it can also live in the intestinal tract, mouth and on the skin, it can become a problem anywhere if it gets out of control and can release toxins into the bloodstream which can have many adverse effects on the functioning of the body; symptoms can include depression, mood swings, sinusitis, headaches, chronic fatigue, joint pain, stomach pain, indigestion, vaginal thrush and other fungal infections, skin rashes and eczema, etc.
Often Candida can be controlled by a balanced diet and by the elimination of certain foods in order to create an internal environment in which the yeast cannot survive. Usually an initial detox diet will ensure, along with a good anti-yeast formula will enable levels of systemic Candida to be significantly reduced.
