Rainbow Apothecary is owned by me (Julie Button) and is situated in a small town in Suffolk, England. We are a small family run company, which was formed over 10 years ago, after the birth of my twin daughters. I decided to try and bring our children up as natural and peaceful as possible and formed this company to sell the products which we found helped us to achieve this way of life.
Natural Bodycare products and Toiletries. When my children where born they were so special and magical (as all new parents will feel!), their little bodies seemed so sensitive and vulnerable that I did not want to use the normal commercial baby skincare products as some contained a lot of harsh chemicals. I already had a small ' Natural Health' Practice which offered Aromatherapy, Clinical Massage, Reflexology and Nutritional advice, therefore I was in the ideal position to start to investigate and blend my own Baby skincare range (See the Meadowsweet range of Toiletries). After a few months I started making these products for not only myself but also my family and friends. Soon I had to also included skincare for Adults and Teenagers too!. It soon became obvious that these products were in great demand and that a lot of other parents felt that they too wanted to use natural products for their special little ones. I now have an extensive range and have the products blended for us as it not viable to stay up most of the night mixing products on my kitchen table any more!
I manufacture the natural Bodycare range under the name of and am very careful to make sure none of the products are tested on animals and do not contain any animal derived ingredients, hence we do not use lanolin. Also with the increase of public concern in Genetically Modified products we insist that all raw materials used have not been GM modified. All my Meadowsweet Bodycare products are Free from SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate), Parabens and Petro Chemicals. They are suitable for vegetarians and Vegans (except Lip Balm) and really do work! ........
Rainbow Apothecary sensible packaging policy !
A lot of our products are stored in glass jars or bottles so they can be recycled. Our bath products come in soft squeezy bottles because they make it easier to get all of the product out so you don't waste any. Soft bottles are also safer in the bath and shower, just in case you drop them! Rainbow Apothecary and Meadowsweet is very concerned about the environment and we try and recycle products whenever possible. Therefore do not be surprised if your goods are delivered in a re-used box or recycled padded envelope. The protective packaging will usually be paper that has been recycled and shredded or any other re-usable product that can protect the goods, it is not for cheapness but for the sake of our children's and also your children's future. We have to stop cutting down so many trees, start planting more trees and recycle products when ever possible. We also encourage our customers to re-use the packaging again, every little helps!
