The British Medical Laser Association is a scientific society established to promote, for the benefit of the public, the application of laser and light technology in medicine by:
• Promoting the safe ooperation of light sources in the treatment of disease.
• Promoting research and develoopment in light technology in medicine, and by publication of useful results of such research.
• Establishing standards in the medical application of lasers, and other light sources.
• Promoting collaboration and understanding between clinical and scientific disciplines in the field of laser, and non-laser, application.
The breakdown of membership is approximately 70% clinical, 20% scientific, and 10% commercial. The BMLA is a registered charity: 800062
