What is Full Body Massage?

Full body massage uses oil or talc and the massage movements cover the arms, legs, shoulders, neck, face, abdomen and back. Swedish massage strokes include effleurage, friction, kneading, wringing and percussion. 

This beginners' massage course is designed for anyone from complete novices to enthusiastic amateurs. The 1 day workshop will cover the full body massage routine and all theoretical underlying principles.  The objective of the workshop is to allow students to be confident in their touch and understand the nature of what they are doing and to be confident in treating family and friends.  

What will I learn? This introduction course offers a taster to Swedish Massage, hence allowing you to learn about the therapy and how to perform the basic therapy to see if it is for you, without having to commit yourself to a fully accredited course. It does however, form an ideal and comprehensive preparation for entry to an accredited course such as VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Anatomy, Physiology and Massage, and by the end of the workshop you will know enough to be able to give a massage to family or friends. There are formal assessments on this course. You will study:

• Consultation process 
• Massage techniques
• Preparation for treatment
• After-treatment care
• Full-body massage routine
