Massage during pregnancy brings with it many challenges from a variety of systems that can affect the mother-to-be. This workshop will give you a number of new tools to aid your thought process and technique selection for the pregnant client.

This two day workshop will:

  • Enhance your understanding of the functional anatomy, physiology and biomechanics of pregnancy and the post natal period.
  • Contraindications and effectve screening.
  • Safe posture for the client and therapist.
  • Incorporation of sports, remedial and swedish massage, soft tissue release, myofascial release, shiatsu and the use of accupressure and reflexology points to create the most effective personalised treatment plan possible.
  • Optimal soft tissue strategies for all commonly affected areas of the body.

Pre-requisites: a minimum of a basic level 3 massage background and are currently a practicing therapist.  It is preferrable that you have an understanding of MET and STR techniques in order to get to most out of your day but not essential.

At NLSSM we want to inspire you, refresh, revive and revitalise your massage therapy skills.  Increase your client care and rehabilitation success rates.  Our aim is to make your experience with us one you will want to repeat, to motivate you to be the best sports massage therapist you can be!
