How to fight off colds and flu
A healthy immune system is essential to fight off colds and flus as well as for general health and wellbeing. A good diet and a healthy lifestyle play an important role in supporting the immune system. With the cold and flu season just starting this workshop will explore which foods and lifestyle factors can support your immunity and which ones can weaken it.
If colds and flu affect you regularly, then this workshop will give you the information you need to be able to start building your immune system now. You will also be given handouts on the information given during the workshop so you can start to work on implementing your new knowledge!
Dr Karin Elgar is a Nutritional Therapist with many years experience in helping people to achieve optimum health through nutrition. After obtaining a Degree in Biology and a PhD in Physiology Karin worked in the pharmaceutical industry for many years gaining a good medical knowledge and an insight into drug development. She had long had an interest in a healthy lifestyle and after experiencing herself how simple changes to her diet significantly improved her health she decided to take this interest further and started a three year course at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION). From there she graduated in 2004 and has since then been practicing as a nutritional therapist in the Greater Manchester area.
Karin has a special interest in women's health, supporting metabolic and hormonal balance, fertility, optimising gastrointestinal health, weight management needs, and promoting wellbeing and vitality with the pressures of modern lifestyles.
