Reiki is unique among complementary therapies, treating the body as a whole and using Universal energy as well as the body's own internal energy to heal the mind, body and soul.
By clearing away all your emotional baggage you can be free to be the real you rather than what other people expect you to be. All those life choices suddenly become a lot easier to handle and it will give your health a boost as well. Reiki needs to be experienced to be understood so why don't you give it a try?

So What's this Reiki All About Then?

Reiki is a form of energy healing that was first used in Japan by the founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui. There are many forms of energy healing but Reiki is unique among them and can be learned by anyone.

The practitioner channels naturally occurring Universal energy into the patient at the frequency of the condition they are treating. Reiki is used world-wide. Some hospitals in the UK and USA offer Reiki for a wide range of conditions.

Can Reiki Help Me?

Reiki can help anyone and everyone for physical and emotional issues.

  • Reiki induces an extremely relaxed state allowing you to think more clearly and make wiser and healthier decisions about your life.
  • Creates calmness, reducing worry and stress.
  • Heals the pain connected with past traumas in your life (e.g. bereavement, lack of parental affection, traumatic relationships etc) so they no longer taint the choices you make in your present and future.
  • Helps to relieve physical conditions by working on them directly at the correct frequency. Reiki can be used to benefit any condition but a diagnosis is necessary. Some of the problems we have treated are: sports injuries, back pain, broken bones, muscle wastage, allergies, addictions, cancer.
For all the sceptics out there, Reiki has worked for many individuals.

What Does The Treatment Involve?

The patient lays fully clothed on a treatment couch with their eyes closed. The practitioner places their hands in various positions above the patient's body.
Experiences of Reiki are individual but many people often comment of feeling at the very least intense relaxation, clarity and serenity. For others Reiki is a life-changing event. The treatment can last between 45 minutes and 2 hours depending on individual needs.

What Should A Treatment Cost Me?

The cost of a treatment can vary between £20 and £120+ dependent on the practitioner. The amount of money you pay does not necessarily reflect the ability of the practitioner.

How Do I Choose A Practitioner?

Make sure the practitioner belongs to a recognised association. If possible go by word of mouth or recommendation. Speak to the practitioner on the phone first to make sure you feel comfortable with the them. If possible take a friend with you for the first treatment or if you feel more comfortable, visit a practitioner of the same gender. Some Reiki websites offer distant treatments. These can be misleading, it is always better to see a practitioner directly as they will have a better understanding of your condition.

What If I Want To Learn Reiki?

Learning Reiki allows you to heal yourself on a regular basis and if you choose, to heal others as well. It is not restricted to those with a 'spiritual healing gift', nor is it limited to anyone with a specific religious belief. Reiki can be learned by anyone.

Ensure that the Reiki teacher belongs to an accredited association and teaches an accredited course. Be careful of websites that offer distant treatments and attunements. These qualifications will not be recognised and you cannot guarantee the sort of treatment you will be getting. Make sure you go to a teacher that offers a certified course and gives post course support free of charge.
