Aromaflex is a combination of Aromatherapy and Reflexology. Both individual therapies are said to work on the mind, body and spirit and are thought to act synergistically to create an enhanced experience for the client.

During the initial consultation, the therapist determines not only which reflexes to concentrate on and how to adapt the reflexology treatment to ensure the client receives maximum benefit from the therapy but also formulates a personal blend of aromatherapy oils. Produced to take account of the client s emotional state, any symptoms they are experiencing and what the client wants to achieve from the treatment, the essential oils are blended and used with a carrier oil during the treatment. A few drops of the blended oil can also be vaporised using a burner, further adding to the sensory encounter.

One of the advantages of Aromaflex is that the client can leave the treatment with a small bottle of their personal essential oil blend. This can be used in the days after their treatment to massage specific reflex points, identified during their treatment, which many clients believe prolong and enhance the effects of the treatment.

The therapy was created by Viv Tipper who is qualified both in Aromatherapy and Reflexology. The advantage to reflexologists is that whereas previously if you wanted to use the therapeutic effects of essential oils, you first had to complete a massage course and only then could you start studying aromatherapy.
