Biography
I started my training in this industry in 1997, qualifying as a sports therapist.
This was the start of a love affair that has seen me qualify in a range of other remedial and holistic therapies throughout the last 14 years and it doesn’t stop there!
The desire to pass on my experience and knowledge to enable as many people as possible to benefit from these amazing disciplines led me to qualify as an assessor in 2000 followed by Internal Verifier in 2006.
Along side working with my clients I worked part-time within the college and private training sector. This led me to open my own VTCT accredited training centre in 2005 where I work with small groups of students to enable very personal attention to training needs.
My second centre has just opened in Clitheroe, Lancashire and I’m looking forward to the same success as with the one in Preston.

Personal Experience
I’ve worked, over the past 14 years, in many different settings and met so many lovely people in all of them.
Care Homes - Health, Fitness & Sports clubs - Children’s centres and nurseries teaching baby massage and First Aid - taking part in caring days for organisations such as Carers in the Community, MS Society, SEED - working with people suffering from cancer - supporting charities by offering massage at events such as the Midnight Walk – and of course, a huge range of personal clients of all ages with many differing needs.
I’ve been a volunteer with the British Red Cross for many years, attending first aid duties and delivering some of their training. More recently I’ve also taken on the training for the Therapeutic Care division and am a member of the Volunteers Council.
Through the training centre I teach people in small groups, often 1-2-1, seeing the positive changes as I watch their confidence and skills grow.
All very different settings but all so memorable. I consider myself extremely lucky and very privileged to have accidentally fallen into this career. It’s more than a job, it has become an immensely satisfying way of life.
