  • PSYCHOLOGIST

Move beyond surviving to thriving! I help you find your way. Specializing in EMDR, Post-Traumatic Growth, and Equine (Horse)-Assisted therapies. Therapeutic sessions support emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual balance, integration, and growth. Experience how to create peace of mind, wholeness, well-being, and self-empowerment. I have offices in Loveland and Longmont, Colorado.

Therapeutic areas of expertise include Personal Growth, Self-Improvement, Trauma/PTSD, Emotional Balancing (Anxiety & Depression), and Consciousness. My approach is eclectic and authentic. In addition to client-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapies, I enjoy EMDR and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy. I create safe, uplifting, and nurturing spaces for adolescents, adults and older adults.

  • EQUINE (HORSE)-ASSISTED PSYCHOLOGIST

Meet once, occasionally or regularly at an indoor arena at the Fifth Element Ranch in Loveland, CO, http://www.FifthElementRanch.com . Psychotherapy and playing with horses are grounding, powerful, and uplifting experiences. Sessions support emotional, mind-body, and spiritual balance.

Horse-assisted group and individual experiences for personal growth and success. Experience profound changes using the power of the bond between horse and human. What makes the human-horse bond therapeutic approach so effective? Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning (EFEL) combines accelerated growth with graceful balance allowing maximum clarity to arise. The sanctuary of "horse-time" cannot be intellectually understood; it must be experienced to appreciate its power. Working with horses offers the ultimate "short-cut" to desired goals. Undiscovered possibilities and potentials will arise during your deep experience of the present moment. The power of the bond between horse and human is a profound experience you must feel, and then let your heart interpret. No horse experience required. Special fees may apply.

I collaborate with you to change stuck beliefs, behavior patterns and physical symptoms, shift mood imbalances, improve sleep, relieve anxiety, resolve trauma, grief and loss, smooth life transitions, navigate career issues, improve self-esteem and integrate life purpose. Together, we help you better develop resources to balance and integrate emotions, behaviors, facets, and beliefs to create more peace of mind, wholeness, well-being, and self-empowerment. One of my strengths is mentoring people to go beyond surviving to thriving.

  • ANIMAL COMMUNICATOR/PET PSYCHOLOGIST

Connecting heart to heart; I help you and your pets find your way! Communication sessions clarify reasons for unusual or unwelcome behaviors, improve you and your pet's emotional well-being, strengthen your bond, bring awareness to how your pet is mirroring you, help you understand your pet and yourself at deeper levels, and address concerns about pets who have crossed over. As valued family members, pets can both effect and be affected by the emotions of their guardians. Our pets are family and want to help. Connecting Heart to Heart, I help you and your pets find your way.

In-home pet communication sessions available in Boulder and Larimer counties. Because animals are telepathic, phone sessions are also available and as beneficial as in-person sessions. Generally, I begin sessions by sharing with you whatever your pet wants to tell us first, I then let your pet know whatever you want me to tell him/her, and then I ask your pet your additional questions.

I was first introduced to animal communication in childhood through my great uncle and cousin sharing stories of their abilities to lovingly connect with animals. In May of 2008, I was delighted to hone my own intuitive abilities to communicate with animals at an intensive animal communication workshop led by author and Animal Communicator, Marta Williams. I've worked in animal hospitals, rescued and rehabilitated animals, studied healing touch, and volunteered with local rescue organizations. Currently, I am the guardian of 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a horse. I enjoy riding horses and collaborating with animals in my work.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING EQUINE/HORSE-ASSISTED THERAPY SESSIONS:

Q: What is Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning (EFEL)?
A: Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning (EFEL) is the partnering of horses with humans for exploration of our subtle emotional feelings and inner states. This is often referred to as Emotional Intelligence. The specially designed experiential activities with the horse, integrate the emotional and intellectual parts of the brain; thus, the efficacy of EFEL is immediately apparent. The result is that the unseen power of the present moment is directly available to be experienced by the human.

Q: Why Horses?
A:The intuitive instincts of horses, developed over millions of years as prey and herd animals, is the key component for helping our clients better understand and experience their inner states and emotions. The horse's ability to process emotions as information is an essential part of their survival instincts. When partnering with humans, the horse becomes an emotional mirror as they intuit and reflect our emotional presence. The real-time feedback that the horse provides, without judgment, allows people to experience themselves in a new light. The Emotional Intelligence and self-awareness that is gained from interpreting and making connections through the beneficent horse-human bond always leads to the realization of profound personal insights.

Q: Why is it important to have Emotional Intelligence?
A: Developing Emotional Intelligence allows us to find a connection to everything around us. Horses are highly sensitive and responsive to their environment and as our facilitators; we learn this keen balance of alertness and rest that can happen at the same time. We can use this ability to guide our thinking and actions and truly begin to experience joy and satisfaction in our lives.

Q: What kind of activities do we do with the horse?
A: The EponaTM Approach focuses on the relationship between the human and the horse as the primary way to experience transformation and growth. We use a combination of reflective and active processes to create a space for learning skills such as understanding emotions as information, developing new ways of gaining information, setting and maintaining clear and consistent boundaries, as well as recognizing energy fields. Our unique, leading edge, and strength-based focus delivers noticeable benefits for advancement beyond just living from day-to-day (surviving) to thriving (transformation). No horse experience is necessary, most activities are ground based, and you are always working with an experienced facilitator.
