More than 75% of the population has been infected by the herpes simplex virus at some point of time. Out of those who are affected, around one third can develop cold sores, which are difficult to heal. If you know someone who has cold sores, you will have a good idea how difficult it is to get rid of them. Various cold sore remedies are available on the market, but most of them are not effective. You might find inexpensive over the counter creams and other therapies that promise to help you get rid of sores, but you will hardly see any results. But now you will find some really effective drugs approved by FDA that are available on the market.

Denavir

One of the most effective cold sore treatment creams is Denavir. It was approved by the FDA in 1996. It should be applied to the cold sore or the area where the sore is about to develop. This should be done every 2 hours during the whole day (from the morning till night). This will stop further growth of the sore. Even if you notice the slightest symptoms, you should start using this treatment so that the problem does not become big. Do not wait for the sore to break out. Never apply Denavir near your eyes, ears, nose and in the mouth. This topical cream should be used twice a day and applied on the affected area gently without pressure. It should be used for four days and a gap of 3 days should be given after it.

Condylox

This clinically approved medication is used for treatment of genital warts, which are caused by the human pappilloma virus (HPV). Condylox gel helps you treat warts as well as genital warts. You will start noticing results within the first 3 days of using this medication. It has the ability to fight AK(actinic keratosis) on any area of the body. Condylox contains a key ingredient known as podofilox, and even though the process of how this medication works is not known, studies have shown that it is very effective. AK kills the wart cells by preventing their reproduction. You should apply it once on the affected areas for a period of 4 days after which you have to give a break of 3 days.

Both the drugs, Condylox and Denavir should not be used by pregnant women. There is no evidence that these medications pass in to breast milk, but women who are breastfeeding should avoid them. You should speak to your doctor before you start taking these drugs. Studies have shown that Condylox weakens the rubber from which a condom is manufactured, and hence increases the risk of sexually transmitted diseases. You may experience mild side effects such as headache, sleeplessness, burning, inflammation, pain during sexual intercourse and burning. If you experience excessive burning or other side effects, you should contact your nearest doctor immediately. Be aware of companies that sell illegal drugs and always buy from certified online pharmacies to get branded and authentic medications delivered at your doorstep.
