Inversion therapy is an ideal alternative for spinal alignment. It also relieves back pain, minimizing stress, counter aging effects, improve sleep quality, and much more.

If you are an intermediate, expert or newbie to inversion tables, chances are at some point it will cross your mind on how frequent you should use inversion tables. Well, this might vary according to individual situations or preferences.

Throughout this article, you get to know how often you should use the inversion table. This will help you get the most out of inversion therapy. Let's uncover it all.

How frequent should you use an inversion table?

Many people prefer inversion therapy or to buy the best inversion table available on the market for use at their own pleasure. This is a very important factor to help in keeping your inversion on schedule without any inconvenience.

It is important to ask yourself if the inversion plan is a medical advice, a self-initiative or otherwise. Does it mean the more you use an inversion table, the more you are likely to achieve good results?

If there is a specific medical advice on how often you should use the inversion table, I would suggest you stick to the plan.

Learn the appropriate way to use your table first before understanding how often you should use it. Otherwise, you might develop some other avoidable symptoms or make your situation even worse.

During the early stages

At this level, it is important to listen to your body while starting off with the inversion process.

I have to admit that as a beginner, it is ideal if you pick up with regular inversion in early weeks at about 20 to 30 degrees off the ground. Otherwise, you can return to the vertical position, if it feels itchy, as you keep trying.

According to the Healthy Back Institute, a beginner should do 2 to 3 minutes of body inversion daily during the first and second week until they feel much comfortable. You need to start from somewhere, right?

Also, it is imperative you understand there is actually no specific ‘most ideal limit' on how often you should invert. Besides, give yourself time to gradually advance to a more comfortable position where you can relax a little bit longer as you stay inverted.

Keep your schedule balanced with frequent inversion void of procrastination. As you start, your body will obviously experience stretching of the muscles and joints.

Additionally, at this stage, your body will adjust to more blood circulation, realignment of internal body organs while boosting your oxygenated blood flow. All this is normal.

Growing to intermediary and expert level

Now that your body is getting used to the new level of exercising. Start trying 60 degrees of body inversion before you can advance to the expert level of about 90 degrees inversion.

However, check with an expert or medical practitioner whether you really need necessarily to go beyond 60 degrees in the first place.

Furthermore, keep regularly alternating between inverting and taking some rests for short periods. At this intermediate level, about 20 to 30 seconds of inversion as you return upright (in oscillation- rolling back and forth) is a great way of going about it.

In fact, this is one of the most recommended approaches by the medics. It is great for those who want to utilize the circle of inversion to stimulate blood circulation, heal injured discs and remove body toxic wastes.

Remember, your hands should be on comfortable gripping as you get used to extended inversion on either angle, whichever works out best for your body.

Final Words

Your body is able to handle the regularity with which you advance your inversion style and techniques for longer periods. Consider starting with a session in the morning, another in the day and the last one late in the evening.

Also, remember the frequency is more important than how long you last on your inversion table. But as you get more comfortable and do longer periods, you are likely to notice better results. Lastly, avoid moving too fast since comfort is everything but that shouldn't restrain you from being adventurous.

Over time, well-handled inversion plans can help you realize impressive results. It takes time for your body to adapt and repair. Patience is all you need.
