Ever noticed how some people find it easy to maintain their slim figure even if they don't watch what they eat or going to the gym? This people aren't just pure lucky. They are born with a good metabolic system and their body can burn whatever they eat without any extra efforts from their side. Seems unfair? Well, who said life will be fair!

However, you don't need to curse your metabolic system for being slow any longer; you can increase the rate of your metabolism with the help of natural foods and supplements. Find out more about the two leading options to boost your metabolic rate.

About the Metabolism Diet

The Metabolism Diet lasts for 7 days and helps you to lose weight by increasing the rate of your metabolism. This diet works on the principle that if you eat certain foods in certain quantity, you can accelerate your metabolism rate. When on this diet, you are supposed to drink only 4 glasses of water a day and add pepper, salt, lemon, mustard, herbs, ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce to any foods you eat while on the diet.

  • Breakfast: The only thing you can have for breakfast is black coffee or tea with half a pack of Sweet & Low or Equal. On the last day you can have tea with or without lemon. On some days you are allowed to have lemon juice, raw carrot and water cracker for breakfast.

  • Lunch: For lunch, you can have two hard boiled eggs and one cup of cooked spinach or lettuce and celery salad. On the 4th day you can have one fried fish fillet and a broiled chicken without skin on the 5th day.

  • Dinner: On the 1st day, you can have one lettuce and celery salad and one 6oz. Steak for dinner. On some days, you can have one cup regular yogurt, 1 oz. mozzarella cheese and 1 cup fruit salad. Day 6th can be difficult as you can only have 2 hardboiled eggs and 1 raw carrot for dinner.

The Metabolism Diet: Warnings and precautions

This diet is nothing short of a fad diet and just like other fad diets doesn't provide enough calories to carry on with your daily tasks. You won't be able to participate in any physical activity or even work out in the gym when on the Metabolism Diet. It is also not advisable to try the Metabolism Diet for more than a week as your diet won't consist of many vitamins and nutrients, and this can lead to health complications.

It is far more advisable to take a metabolism booster than to risk your health with this diet. Certain natural supplements can help enhance the rate of your metabolism more safely and quickly.

About metabolism boosters

Natural metabolism boosters contain plant and herb extracts that increase the body temperature allowing your body to convert food into energy faster. These metabolism boosters contain ingredients such as capsicum, green tea, caffeine, metabromine, seaweed and pomegranate extracts. These supplements are safe and can help you to fight those 'hard to lose' pounds that you struggle with the most despite dieting and exercising.
