Do you know someone who is always moaning about all the rotten things that happen to them or how they are always sick? Perhaps you are that person. Either way I truly believe that we as human beings have the ability to eliminate all negativity from our lives. Bad things happen but so do many good things. Why do people focus on the bad and let the good sail by? I personally think the answer is "perspective." How we view ourselves as human beings in this world is entirely up to one person and that person is, ourself. We have been blessed with an amazing mind. A mind that controls the inner working of our complex body, a mind that creates, a mind that evaluates, a mind that expands and a mind that foresees.

By cultivating a positive perspective of what you want in life you begin a journey of joy. I call it the journey of joy because when someone embraces optimism there life begins to take on colour, a colour that radiates success, love and joy. Most people want to be happy, want to be loved but few people decide to be happy and decide to be loved. Instead of just living hoping that you might find happiness one day decide that you will and live as if you already have.

There is something powerful about positivity it attracts more positivity and opposes negativity. This is that same for negativity it attracts more negativity. For example;

A negative person who is not happy with their marriage will focus on what is not working; he doesn't listen, he works too much, he never holds me, he never thanks me, he has put on weight etc... With this perspective so much energy is focused on being disappointed that if the significant other does anything good it is simply overlooked and never acknowledged and as a result the significant other will loose any desire to improve and the marriage will continue the same path.

A positive person who is upbeat and always focusing on the good things in their life will attract other positive people and positive situations. Some people decide from a young age that they want to be a model, a business owner, a university graduate, a mother so why not decide now to be a positive person. By embracing positive thinking you will brighten your life, improve your self confidence, broaden your opportunities and most importantly attract goodness.

Ways to help embrace positivity:

  • Surround yourself with positive people
  • Repeat positive phrases to yourself
  • Change negative thoughts into positive thoughts
  • Read books that discuss positive thinking
  • Avoid conversations that excrete negativity
  • Record positive thoughts in a journal

Decide today to eliminate negativity and embrace positivity.
