The word anxiety, these days, is more commonly used than any other in everyday discourse. It even seems that is rather fashionable to say you are experiencing anxiety. But what is anxiety actually, and how do we differentiate a simple nervous situation from a prolonged state of discomfort that results in serious anxiety condition?

 

We all have been in a situation where we felt a very bad nervousness, resulting in sweating, high heart rate, pain in the stomach and dizziness. However, these symptoms are usually a manifestation of fear from anticipated situations or actions. Well, people tend to name these situations as test anxiety, work anxiety, social anxiety, stage fright, etc. Although these situations can be very unpleasant, they are certainly not related to an anxiety disorder.

Anxiety is a useful alert for our bodies to release some extra adrenaline in times of danger. However, recent and prolonged states of anxiety may result in a severe problem leading to recent anxiety attacks and anxiety disorder.

Whether you are experiencing nervous situations from a stressful lifestyle, or you are having a more serious stage of anxiety issue you must keep in mind that taking care of your mental health comes first. Having emotional or psychological issues that you are not dealing  with properly, may also have a bad impact on your physical well-being and the quality of your life in general.

Determine your Problem

 

Anxiety comes in several different forms, from prolonged anxiety state to anxiety disorder as an illness. Therefore, it is important to determine what level of difficulty you are experiencing and what symptoms do you cope with on a daily basis. Realizing you are dealing with a serious issue can be hard, as a psychological issue is not as easily determined as physical problems are.

 

Dealing with anxiety can be very difficult, since some of the manifestations are hard to cope with, and are often confused with physical illnesses and causes. Therefore, a person that is facing some of the symptoms of severe anxiety or anxiety attacks may be very confused of what is happening.

 

When you have a hard time defining why it is so hard for you to deal with everyday life and why so many trivial things are making you feel overwhelmed and result in physical fatigues, you may end confusing your experience with physical illness. People often confuse anxiety attacks with hard attacks and symptoms of fainting, because of an anxiety attack results in muscle cramps, difficulty to breathe and chest pain with dizziness and problems with balance.

 

Abnormal anxiety starts to take control of people’s normal daily life, causing them to withdraw from many normal daily situations. Acknowledging that there is an existing problem may take time, however, it is the first step to dealing with the issue. It is advisable to see a therapist that will help you determine what kind of problem you are facing and help you with the healing process. Unfortunately, many people are instantly reaching out for pills that may offer instant help. However, they are not a good long-term solution, moreover, they cause physical dependence and eventually they stop working.

 

Find the Cause of the Problem

 

The first step to dealing with a problem is to determine the cause. Moreover, when it comes to dealing with an anxiety problem, defining what triggers these emotions is the key to resolving the issue.

 

As mentioned before, when a psychological issue occurs, it is advisable to see a therapist. As we tend to go to the doctor for every health issue that we are experiencing, seeking professional help is necessary when dealing with anxiety issues also. Moreover, prolonged anxiety state or an anxiety disorder can seriously impact your overall health and your life quality. They don’t come and go as flu does, therefore, they will persist as long as you are not dealing with the cause.

 

Causes for these disorders to develop are numerous, however, every person’s experience is different. Throughout our lives we are dealing with seriously difficult situations and the stress and emotional impact they are causing us may lead to developing serious disorders. The solution to not let this difficulty impact your health is to talk about it and help yourself realize where and what is this powerful trigger to cause your anxiety. Moreover, the cause may be an unresolved issue within yourself or an external factor.

Dealing with the Anxiety Problem

 

While a professional help may assist you to, with time, resolve the problem, reducing the symptoms and the difficulties in everyday life is more than necessary. Anxiety affects every aspect of our lives and finding natural ways to deal with it is very important. You should not let anxiety take over the control and cause you to feel paralyzed and isolated.

 

There are many methods to help your nervous system get its balance back in times of need. Commonly used are the deep breathing and the diving method. It is also advisable to start practicing relaxation, with the techniques of meditation, guided deep breathing, imagery, etc.

Natural remedies like CBD oil and weighted blanket will help you feel more “grounded” and take over the control. Moreover, they may help you fight the sleeping problems anxiety often causes, therefore, making you stronger when dealing with the difficulties.
