Oprahs Weight Is National News Again

I have warned repeatedly that no person can win a willpower battle with out-of-control leptin. Oprah is the living proof, the yo-yo dieter who is the poster child for leptin problems. She is also proof that it does not matter how much money you have, and an no matter what health "experts" you consult, the failure to master leptin will eventually do you in.

In her January issue of O Magazine, and her TV shows to start the New Year, she will turn her problem into a marketing bonanza. She is now blaming thyroid as the cause of her trouble, saying she was too scared to exercise because of her thyroid problem.

I reviewed her apparent thyroid situation back in October of 2007, in my article: Oprah Raises Awareness on Thyroid Issue; Controversy and Confusion Follow. As I pointed out then, she had no real clue what her problems were. She suffered from severe stress-induced wind up and excess inflammation. Her thyroid was punched in the nose, not the source of her problem.

She mistakenly went on thyroid medication, which invariably makes this type of problem worse, as it creates a further internal hyper feeling that is almost impossible to stop - except by eating. The inept individuals advising her on her health are the one's that set her leptin system on fire this time.

The only solution is to eat in harmony with leptin, manage stress more effectively, consistently exercise, and use nutrients to guide leptin function and reduce inflammation; as I fully explain in Mastering Leptin.
