Vegan, vegetarian, paleo, and keto are all diets that offer people a healthier way of eating. Though these diet's bring lots of nutrients to the body, there are still some key vitamins and minerals that are missing. Adding those nutrients back into the diet in the form of supplements will really help to boost the health of the body.
Some of these supplements that aid in nutrition are spirulina, moringa, turmeric, and beets. The one supplement I will be focusing on is chlorella. Chlorella is a nutrient-dense algae that is grown in Taiwan and Japan. It is processed and broken down into a liquid, powder, or pill form in order to be consumed. This is because chlorella is a single-cell algae with a rigid cell wall making it hard to access the nutrients inside.
How Sweet It Is
The benefits in chlorella are essential to what the body needs. Chlorella offers many vitamins and minerals such as protein, carotenoids, fiber, antioxidants, all 9 amino acids, chlorophyll, zinc, and many more nutrients. Proteins help with tissue and muscle repair. It also helps to make hormones, chemicals, and gene formation. Carotenoids help to reduce the risk of diseases by being a rich antioxidant. Fiber aids in the absorption of nutrients from food. It also helps to bulk up the stool to allow waste to pass more easily. Antioxidants work by defending the cell from becoming damaged by harmful substances known as free radicals in the body. 9 Amino acids are what makes up the various proteins that we need. We know that proteins help to build-up the muscles, tissue, organs, and all body processes. Chlorophyll is found in green plants. It helps to give energy, detoxify the blood, support the immune system, and can help prevent cancer. Zinc helps to fight viruses in bacteria. It also aids in the process of protein and DNA formation and the body.
Chlorella has also been known to be a great detoxifier for the body. It has the ability to remove heavy metals and pollution from the environment out of the body. Along with detoxification it helps to support the immune system by helping the body to produce more antibodies.
The Ins And Outs
The thing that really makes chlorella stand out is the fact that it contains chlorella growth factor. This is a substance within chlorella that allows it to reproduce in about a day. This rapid rate of growth and multiplication has not been known to harm anyone that has used it. It also aids in DNA and RNA function. DNA stores and transfers genetic information in order to make new cells. RNA takes that information from the DNA and creates the proteins needed for the genetic formation of the cell. When chlorella is ingested it helps to repair, protect, and regenerate DNA and RNA. This can use up a lot of energy so when added as a supplement it helps to boost these attributes without using up too much energy.
As if this wasn't enough chlorella has been tested and used on people who have gone through chemotherapy. When a person who has received chemo have taken chlorella it has shown to protect the tissues and organs from damage due to radiation. This is in part due to the chlorophyll in the chlorella. Chlorophyll is in very high concentration in chlorella and it also helps to boost the immune system and remove toxins.
Conclusion
When it comes to nutrition there are many foods and supplements that are available to help increase the health of the body. Chlorella, just being one of the many, has a lot of great benefits that will help give the body a boost in immunity and protection from harmful substances inside and outside of the body. Chlorella may be the key ingredient to help boost your diet. The moral to the story is that Chlorella is awesome!
