Amenorrhea is defined as a health condition of absence of period
1. Primary amenrrhea
Women who are at age 18, but for what ever reason have never menstruated or
2. Secondary amenrrhea is defined as period beginning at the appropriate age, but later stops for more than 3 cycles.
Types of liver deficiency cause amenorrhea include
1. Liver qi stagnation

Anaemia is one of condition of liver blood deficiency according to traditional Chinese medicine.
3. Liver yin deficiency
Since liver is in-charge of blood formation and blood storing, liver yin deficiency is defined as health condition of liver's inability to moisten the blood vessels and provide fluid in blood formation, affecting the quality and quantity of blood as blood is a form of fluid and nutrients.
4. Liver Fire flaming upward
Liver fire flaming upward is defined as a health condition due to extreme dampness accumulation, leading to damp heat, resulting in liver fire flaming upward in extreme case or inflammation due to excessive liver yang which over suppresses the yin of the liver.
5. Liver yang overactive
Liver yang overactive is defined as a health condition of which the liver yin has maintained its normal level while yang is excessive. Although, it is very similar to liver yin deficiency, but the main difference is that people with liver yang overactive desire to have cold drink and have a dry mouth all the time.
