As we mentioned in previous articles during the last stage of the menstrual cycle normally a layer of endometriosis lining in the inside of the uterus is expelled, known as menstruation blood but instead some of the endometriosis tissues grow somewhere in the body causing endometriosis. Endometriosis also reacts to hormonal signals of the monthly menstrual cycle, building up tissue, breaking it, and eliminating it through the menstrual period. Infertility always cause problem for women who want to conceive. In this article, we will discuss types of infertility caused by endometriosis.
1) Age
As a woman ages, her chances for fertility decline. Infertility in older women appears to reduce the quality of eggs as they age as well as increase the risk of miscarriage. Study shows that the risk of woman over 35 years of age with endometriosis increases substantially by 30 to 50% than those do not have endometriosis.
2) Blockage of Fallopian tubes
If endometrial implants adhesion occur in the fallopian tubes, they may eventually block the sperm from entering the tubes.
3) Blockage in ovaries
Endometrial implants or adhesion occur in the ovaries interfere with the normal function of egg releasing during menstrual cycle.
4. Advance endometriosis
In advance case of endometriosis, endometrial adhesion form between the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes, blocking the forward movement of sperm resulting in infertility.
5. Low level of progesterone
Progesterone is essential for conception, low level of progesterone will cause abnormalities of the endometrium interfering with a fertilized egg to adhere to the uterine lining. Low level of progesterone also causes miscarriage.
6. Egg abnormality
Study show that the eggs in women with endometriosis appeared to have more genetic abnormalities than those in women without the diseases.
