Water retention is either causes by imbalance of levels of potassium and salt or malfunction of lymphatic system or kidney inability in urinary secretion or all of them. Herbs used to treat water retention include the following:
1. Cleaver
Cleaver contains chemical agent which helps to release the congestion of lymphatic channels caused by swelling and soreness due to environment toxins thereby, it helps to improve lymphatic function in regulating the fluid in the body tissue.

2. Dandelion

Horsetail contains high amount of silica. Besides using as an astringent in the genito-urinary tract, it also is an diuretics herb, thereby, helping the function of both lymphatic system and organ kidney in regulating the fluid in the body tissues resulting in lessening the symptoms of fluid retention in the body tissues

5. Burdock Root
Burdock root helps to drains the lymphatic fluids, reduces toxins and removes uric acid, thereby, decreasing the risk for women with symptoms of water retention before and after ovulation.
