3 Common Signs of Aging You Can Fight Back Against

Anyone who lives long enough will probably experience at least one of these signs of aging and likely more. Even though there’s nothing anyone can do about the inevitable movement of time, there are solutions for the effects time has on the human body.

Muscle Strength

You may have heard that you have to use it or lose it and nothing could be truer of your muscles and their strength. An active person will retain more muscle strength than someone who is sedentary. As you age it’s more important to use those muscles daily, whether you’re doing a strenuous workout or simply moving around doing household chores.

The best ways to maintain muscle strength are to continue working out or engaging in activities that use your muscles. Weight-bearing exercises are as important as aerobic. Even if you don’t go to the gym, you can strengthen your muscles by lifting weights available from sporting good stores or common objects like canned food.

Hair Loss

Time, genetics and hormones play a role in hair loss. Baldness affects more men than women and fortunately, and fortunately, there are now viable solutions for both. The FDA has approved several treatments and the latest, called PRP hair treatment, works well with both men and women. The success rates are high and it’s a natural approach to stimulating hair growth in problem-areas.

Eyesight

As people age, their eyes change too. The first signs start in their 40s when it gets more difficult to see things close up, called hyperopia. Next are cataracts that form slowly over time and cloud the cornea, which obscures vision to the point where it can cause blindness. Macular degeneration is another age-related phenomenon that blocks the central vision on the retina. Glaucoma can develop at any time but is most common in older people.

Although diet won’t give immediate relief or cures for some kinds of eye-related signs of aging, medical treatments are highly effective. Glasses are the solution to age-related hyperopia and surgery is the go-to treatment for cataracts. Eye drops and/or medical marihuana will lower the pressure in the eyes, which helps control glaucoma. Eating healthy food and/or nutritional supplementation is a proven way to minimize the effects of macular degeneration.

Bottom Line

Diet and exercise slow the effects of aging on muscles and eyesight and can’t hurt for other conditions either. Fortunately, there are professionals to help along the way as well, especially when it comes to hair loss and eyesight.
