Cancer is a disease that knows no limits. It can affect anyone, no matter what their age or background. If there are any abnormal pains that you experience in the body that can't be explained, then you should have the proper tests done to see if cancer is present. Most doctors will be able to either conduct the tests or refer you to someone who can perform the scans or blood work that is needed to make a diagnosis.

Headaches

Many people have headaches on a daily basis. It could be from the stress of work or from taking care of the family. Most headaches will go away with rest or medication. If you find that you have frequent headaches in various areas of the head that won't go away, it could be a sign that there is a small tumor present. An EEG or MRI can be done to look at the brain and the brain waves to see if there is a tumor in any area.

Back Pain

While back pain is sometimes normal if you perform any kind of heavy lifting, it shouldn't persist for a long period of time. Some back pain can be associated with colon cancer or ovarian cancer. You could also experience back pain if there is cancer in the kidneys or liver. This is because the organs sit closer to the back of the body, with pain felt more if you sit for long periods of the day.

Bones and Joints

Pain in the bones and joints can sometimes be hard to pinpoint. You might brush it off as the flu or fatigue from working. Pay attention to pain that might occur in the longer bones as this is often where cancer develops, such as the femur or the longer bones in the arms. A medical imaging specialist with a degree in radiology says your doctor may request an MRI to check for cancerous growths, if bone cancer is suspected.

Lumps

While some lumps go unnoticed, there are some that can cause pain in the body. These are lumps that have often developed into cancer without you knowing that the disease even exists until treatment is required. Breast cancer is one of the diseases that usually presents as a lump under the skin, but it's sometimes not noticed until there is pain from the lump pressing on tissues in the breast. Other lumps could be present in the lymph nodes and testicles that cause pain.

Whether it's a minor pain that you think might go away with medication or a severe pain that gets worse as time goes by, you should see a doctor to make sure there isn't anything abnormal with the body.

Cancer cells can grow rapidly, sometimes before you realize they are in the body. Pain is often associated with cancer in some areas, such as the back or head. Scans can reveal tumors, which can lead to the proper treatment that the body needs to fight the disease.
