Many of us may of heard the term acupuncture used but do we really know what it is? Acupuncture is often several ongoing procedures that involve the use of needles which penetrate the skin resulting in certain parts of the body being stimulated. This holistic form of treatment can prevent disease; promote health, energy and balance. Moreover it can treat allergies, skin conditions, arthritis, digestive problems and even addiction and cravings such a smoking. Acupuncture has a wide range of uses and can assist many of those with health problems.
Know do we understand it a little more? When the word needle is presented, most people are put off. Acupuncture rarely “hurts”; it is more of a dull ache around the base of the insertion of the needle or even a slight tingling feeling when the needle is inserted. If done correctly acupuncture should not “hurt” and some people even find it relaxing. You are probably still wondering how acupuncture really works. In each of our bodies there are patterns of energy flow which are essential for optimum health. If these flows get disrupted, this is when we experience diseases, sickness and other health related concerns. Acupuncture can correct imbalances of flow at identifiable points close to the skin.
The needles are used to stimulate points on or under the skin called acupuncture points or acupressure points releasing that flow of energy. When those obstructions in the flow of energy are released we enable our bodies to heal, immune systems to be boosted and to regulate our various body functions. Acupuncture appears to be highly affective for many health concerns, diseases and all types of pain. Instead of using the treatment of drugs to help dull the pain or symptom, acupuncture can get to the root of the source and relieve those pressure points resulting in a cure.
A whole spectrum of people, whether young, old, healthy or sick, everyone can benefit in some way by having acupuncture. Even if it is to relieve stress or to help sleep at night. The health problems acupuncture can treat is endless.
