Exercising will increase your health, your energy will by higher, your muscles will be toned, your organs will enjoy a constant blood flow and you will be happier. Exercise will improve your overall quality of life.
Whether you are exercising for health reasons or to be able to fit into that skinny pair of jeans you will gain multiple benefits. Some people's complaint is they exercise consistently but still haven't shifted that last 5+ pounds or they still have a little spare tire around their middle (you know what I am talking about). In order to achieve optimal results you have to dig deeper. Digging deeper is pushing your body to its limits, really challenging your muscles so they will be stronger. If your exercise program is frequent but not really challenging you will maintain you present state. If you want to finally drop those final pounds that have been hugging your body since you had your baby you need to dig deeper.
Digging deeper is that moment when you want to stop and pushing harder until you HAVE to physically stop. Often you give up too soon or run slower than what you are capable of but you must dig deeper. Push your body to its limit; test your body to discover what it can actually accomplish.
The human body is amazing and so is the mind. Too often you let your mind tells you that you can't do it but that is just a lie. By altering the perspective of the mind you can do ANYTHING. You can do countless push up's, sit ups, jumps, run your best mile, hold that yoga pose for several minutes. Train your mind to push your body.
A couple tricks that help with digging deeper;
· Set a goal. By having a goal that is slightly out of your comfort zone you will have a target. Make your goal achievable but it needs to stretch you and challenge you in order to make you dig deeper
· Be vocal. When you are working out and you hit "the wall" to encourage yourself to dig deeper shout! Vocally encourage yourself. Tell yourself that you are awesome and can achieve this, grunt, scream vocalize your pain, discomforts and goals.
· Use music that motivates and has a driving beat. This will help you dig deeper and achieve physical goals that you didn't feel were attainable.
· Make it a competition. Not everyone is competitive but if you are then create a sense of competition with someone or a group of people.
