When it comes to aging, we all want to turn back the hands of time or at least pry them away from our faces. But is there anything that we can really do? Absolutely.

Well, time machine non-withstanding, science is helping us find the secrets of eternal youth, telling us how the body can rejuvenate on its own. What better way than to start with something as natural as the body itself?

Nourish Your Skin

Everyone knows eating the right food boosts your health.

But, your skin needs the right diet too so it can remain supple and smooth.

Try foods with a high water content and those that contain antioxidants. Antioxidants are great because they help your body to resist chemicals and other pollutants that can break down the skin's cells and collagen. Antioxidants include vitamins A, E, C, and B. Finding a multivitamin that's enriched with vitamins can be just the shield your skin needs.

Omega Power

Along with antioxidants, you will want to take a combination of omega fatty acids to keep your skin supple. A good oil with omega acids will help your hair and your skin while also providing your heart with protection from disease.

Good sources of omega acids include flax oil and flax seeds, which you can just add to your salads and sprinkle on cooked meals to give your skin the best.

Sun-screen Protection

But it's not just what you eat because you also need to protect what skin you already have. And that's where sunscreen plays an important role. You've heard it before, but it's really the best defense against aging. Putting on a sunscreen on any exposed skin each day will help to eliminate problems later in your years.

Water, water and more water

Water is a great way of flushing out toxins from the body.

It also helps keep skin supple and prevents dryness. So drink up.

Dry skin is more prone to wrinkling, or at least showing those wrinkles that are already there.

Beauty-shelf

If your diet and sunscreen don't seem to be helping, try using a face cream containing collagen and retinol. Both seem to help in reducing fine lines and faint wrinkles.

Copper and Vitamin A creams have also shown positive results.

You may not be able to outrun aging, but you can certainly make it harder to happen.
