The essential oil Lavender or Lavandula deriving from the Latin word ‘lavare’, which means to ‘Wash’, has been used for thousands of years as dried or fresh flowers in displays or for decoration, from the small family home dinner table to commercial offices and settings in main high street businesses.
This very popular herbal plant radiates with a deep and rich color of lavender blue/purple, it has a wonderfully attractive smell and its scent is easily recognizable not to be confused with any other herbal smell. Similarly, this herb has a number of healing properties that have been used very successful in the cleaning and beautifying of the skin.
The skin is the largest organ of the body and can sometimes easily get damaged from external cuts or bruises or internal deficiencies of the body, either way Lavender is your best friend (as long as you are not allergic to Lavender which some people are).
Over the centuries Lavender has never lost it’s popularity for cleaning wounds, reducing inflammation, treating burns of the skin and also widely used in bathing. Lavender is extremely good for treating burns, if you are ever burnt and can quickly get some good lavender on to your skin, you be amazed at how quickly the skin will repair using neat lavender as a topical application.
