How to LOVE your workout…

The fact is, the only way to lose weight and tone up is to add exercise into your daily routine. Exercise is a must! Not only will exercise improve your weight status it will improve your overall physical and mental health. The problem is so many people don't like exercising. The fact is whether you like it or not exercise is the reality of healthy living and weight loss.

Here are some tips on how to transform your workout into something that you love;

  • Smile while you workout. It sounds silly but the very act of smiling while working out generates joy. By making an expression of happiness your body will tell your mind that you are having fun. This also will make you work harder and for longer.
  • Wear workout attire. Get changed into workout clothes; if its possible invest in some new workout clothing. If you feel good in your workout clothing you will enjoy your time while working out.
  • Workout with a friend. This does not have to be every time but schedule in several workouts with others whether they are friends or gym classes. Working out in groups provides competition that fuels your adrenaline.
  • Turn up for yourself. Too often people hold themselves accountable when they are committed to someone but continually let themselves down. Turn up for yourself, if you have planned to workout today hold yourself accountable and follow through.
  • Really get into your workout. Allow your inhibitions to dissipate.
  • Tell people about your workouts. Blog about your workouts the more you talk about it the more it become a part of your life and a part of who you are.
  • Begin training for something. By having a goal whether it be a half marathon, a triathlon, becoming a member of a sports team whatever it may be the process of training towards a deadline will excite you and power your workouts.
  • Shake up your workout. Don't stick to the same old workouts. By switching your workouts you are more entertained and also continually challenges muscles.
  • Say out loud that you love working out. It might be a lie but the more you say it the more you will believe it.
  • Workout to music that gets you fired up! Music can really transform a workout. It can push you harder and for longer.
  • Track your progress. As you see how you have progressed you will feel excited about your potential and ability to achieve. This is a great tool to help encourage others.
  • Make it a habit. Once you are in the habit of exercise you will enjoy the stability and routine offered by your workouts. The times you miss your workout you will feel out of sorts and unstable.
