A recent study performed this September shows that airbag in cars helps protect the kidney and other renal organs when hit in a car collision. The study was performed by the American College of Surgeons and was published in Septembers Issue.
This is the first research study of its kind. Little is known of how to of what protects the body's internal organs in the event of a car crash. This specific study focused on the kidney and other renal organs.
48% of Motor car accidents are responsible for trauma to the Kidney. The research showed that the front air bags helped reduce kidney trauma in 45% of car accidents and the side bags reduced kidney trauma in 52% of the car accidents studied.
