Cooler temperature contributes to burning more energy

A study shows the relationship between regular exercise and low temperature to enable the body to activity burn calories throughout the day.  Associate Professor Frank Seebacher and PhD student Elsa Glanville from Sydney, Australia are the first to conduct research that focuses on the correlation between exercise and temperature.

They used rats in their research. Some rats exercised, others did not. The temperature was 30 Celsius or below. They found that the rats that engaged in regular daily exercise were able to burn calories throughout the day and loose weight consistently. The rats that did not engage in exercise daily had no change in weight loose when the temperature was lowered. In order for the rats to loose weight, burn calories they had to exercise and be in an environment that was 30 Celsius or below.

The researchers state that as mammals, humans are designed to engage in frequent exercise. The human body was designed to move, have increased heart rate and have it's muscles challenged. With the temperature being at 30 Celsius or below the researchers found that mammal's burn energy throughout the day. Most people are exposed to these temperatures on a daily basis.

According to this research just daily exercise paired with a cooler environment will help burn energy and strength the human body. So get fit and lower your heating bill at the same time.
