Are your hormones preventing you from shifting those 15 pounds?

The life that we live today has dramatically changed since just 50 years ago let alone 100 years ago or a thousand years ago! We live in a world full of plastic, processed food, 70 hour work weeks, burning the candle at both ends, sitting at a desk for half of our life and an unhealthy relationship with food. Sadly, our lifestyle has a huge domino effect on the health of our body and invariably affects our hormones, which in other words affects our weight.

Hormones control our metabolism, our metabolism controls our ability to break down food and use it efficiently or inefficiently. We need to change our perspective and not look at food or exercise as "bad" things or "mean" things rather we need to realize that every bite of food, every sip of drink will affect our metabolism and our ability to be efficiently healthy. We need to desire health, longevity.

Bad habits such as living off a few hours of sleep, having an addiction to caffeine, eating sugar free and fat free everything only mess with our hormones. If we abuse our hormones enough we will only see negative results. Think of trying to play a piece of music on a piano with half the keys missing, it would not sound right, it would not be right just as if one of our hormones is out of whack then we are not right, it just takes one to throw our entire Endocrine system off balance.

So how do we reverse the hormonal chaos? Eat fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and lots of greens, hydrate with water constantly, wheat, nuts, fish etc... It's nothing new! We have heard it over and over again. Eat the food of the land. We don't need any special diet foods we just need to treat our body with respect and kindness. The less packaged foods the better. The fact is when your hormones are out of whack your weight loss potential is lessened dramatically.
