With all the new advancements being made in medicine, cancer patients can look forward to a complete recovery.

Chemotherapy and radiation however can be a harrowing experience. Can they be done away with in favor of less invasive treatments?

Chemo and radiation work wonders for a lot of patients, and should not be dismissed necessarily. The choice to pursue those therapies is one that is personal and should be discussed with the patient's physician.

That said, there seem to be therapies that compliment cancer treatment and some are finding to be helpful when used alone.

Organic diet
Science has been looking deeply into the role diet plays in non-cancerous treatments. It's not unreasonable to assume that a healthy diet aids in cancer treatments, though the evidence points out that the wrong dietary intakes worsens the condition.

Selecting foods that are organic or have very few processed ingredients seems to do wonders for a lot of cancer patients. The theory is that the lack of artificial processing creates a more healthful balance in the body.

And that balance leads to the body's increased ability to fight off the cancer cells.

Besides vegetables and fruits, green tea has shown promising results in the fight against cancer. Drinking three cups of green tea daily seems to help reduce cancerous tumors in some patients although the verdict is still out on this.

Stretching to rest and relax
Yoga, meditation and other relaxation techniques all promote well being which seems to help the body fight off cancer cells.

These techniques are used in conjunction with chemotherapy and radiation. They help reduce stress and are believed to create a positive attitude in the patient that seems to help fight the cancer.

And of course, moving the body helps to rebuild muscles that can break down from being fatigued more often. Getting that circulation going helps to relieve some of the anxiety and stress associated with the diagnosis and the possible changes in everyday life.

It's'sentirely feasible to deal with cancer. And patients should certainly banish the thought of looking at it as something awful that they must go through. With so many alternative therapies available, if you are confronting cancer you will find it much easier to get back into the vital flow of health.

You need to give yourself the best there is. Anything, after all, can work to help in tackling cancer.
