Everyone knows that smoking is unhealthy but sadly smoking can become an overwhelming addition. The best way to stop smoking is to make the choice to never start smoking in the first place. For those who took a puff of a cigarette whether by choice or as a submission to peer pressure or in the desire to escape responsibility here are some tips on how gain freedom from this awful addition.

Believe that you can and you will quit. The power within your mind is amazing and has the ability to achieve anything. Negative thoughts will produce negative results, positive thoughts will indeed produce positive results.

Write down a list of all the reasons why you dislike smoking or why you want to quit smoking. This exercise will help fuel your desire to quit as you see the list grow and grow. With each reason you will gain more confidence in your decision to quit as it will improve your life for the best.

 Exercise! Exercising is not compatible with smoking. Exercise is an incredible tool that obviously increases health but also relieves stress and anxiety. Depending on your health you may want to consider beginning slowly and gradually build up your exercise program.

Set a date to quit. Whether you choose to quit cold turkey or take the gradual road set a date and tell your family and friends. Get as much support as you can. The more people that know the more support and help you can receive.

Visualize yourself as a non-smoker, imagine what that looks like. Imagine going to places where perhaps you would normally be smoking and create the image of you being there without a cigarette and without the need to smoke. Prepare your response for when someone offers you a cigarette.

 Flush out all the toxins from cigarettes with the help of water. Water is great for your health and has the perfect properties to cleanse your body.
