Nightmares into happy dreams

It is no new news that the human mind is an incredible tool but research shows a new approach to use the power of the mind to change nightmares into dreams with happy endings.

Kids often complain of bad dreams, running into their parent's bedroom during the night scared of some nightmare that was playing inside their head. But kids are no alone in this many adults suffer from terrible dreams. Dreams of being trapped, dreams of being chassed, dreams of going to the toilet, dreams of dying, the list is endless.

There is an exercise one can do to help alter the dream. By using the capacity of the mind to change the sequencing of a dream can have a remarkable affect on a person and their sleeping habits. This is called Image Rehearsal Therapy. Basically, Image Rehearsal Therapy is creating a new image or scene in your mind while you are awake and practice seeing it. Eventually, when you are sleeping the dream will become the dream that you altered. If your nightmare is being running away from someone it can be alter that by turning around and seeing the person holding your wallet. That person could then say, "You dropped your wallet." Suddenly, a frightful image is changed into a comforting one. Obviously this takes frequent practicing; it is a skill to alter images but very possible and effective.

There are therapists available that can help guide individuals through this process but also people can train themselves it just takes patience and diligence. Don't allow those nightmares to rule your sleep! Change those frightful images into blissful images.
